Our Design Process
Professional web design is a process that involves many disciplines and steps. First, and most important, is understanding who it is you are designing for. Every business is unique, because their owner is unique. Color, shapes, theme and many other aspects need to fit into how that person views themselves and their business.
After that there is the formulation of site concept. What will the site actually look like? Should the home page be all in Flash or should there simply be text with graphics? Do the colors decided upon actually work with the layout? Is the navigation easy for the viewer to use and does it take them where they want to go? These are just some of the decisions that need to be made by the designer and the client.
Once the design is agreed upon, next comes the graphics. A good designer needs the ability to work with programs such as Illustrator, Flash or Photoshop to create graphics or animation and manipulate photos to add elements that will be in harmony with the design framework. Using unretouched photos or graphics that can be seen on thousands of other websites will lessen the experience of the person viewing your website.
Last, but certainly not least, comes the actual building of the site in a code editing program. Here the site is made ready for upload to a hosting server so that it will be visible to the entire internet. At this stage all the parts are assembled, keywords and tags are attached to make it visible to search engines , links are made live and testing is done to make sure that the site is viewable in a multitude of browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox.
